We have temporarily changed our distribution system.  In the past, our food bank was client choice.  We now pre-pack boxes for our clients.  We ask that you remain in your car and we will put the pre-packed boxes in your trunk.  Do not exit your car.   This helps ensure social distancing and maintains the safety of our volunteers.  It is helpful to our volunteers that you make room in your car before coming.   You may be asked to “sign” for your TEFAP or CSFP box (an extra box of food provided by the government based on your income).  We will offer hand sanitizer to you and give you a sanitized pen to complete the application.  We do ask that you wear a mask when interacting with our volunteers. 

We understand that you may receive food items that you cannot use.  We are asking that you reach out to friends and family and share any food that you cannot use.  Please think about your older neighbors that may not be able to get out.  We know you have gotten creative, even using Nextdoor to reach out. 

What can you do to protect yourself: 

• Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.

• Avoid close contact with people who show symptoms of illness.

• Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.

• Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.

• Clean and disinfect cell phones, doorknobs, and other frequently touched surfaces and objects, using a regular household cleaning product.

• If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains 60%–95% alcohol.

If you suspect you may be ill, stay home.
